Get Thee to a Bagelry!

This Week at Saxelby Cheesemongers: Get Thee to a Bagelry… Saxelby’s Got Local Cream Cheese!

jones family farmThe best things come to those who wait. Or so the old saying goes… though I was beginning to have some serious doubts that we’d ever find a delicious local cream cheese. This week, we thank goodness for the Jones Family Farm up in Herkimer, NY and their tangy, schmearable Kuyahoora Crème Cheese! One little spoonful will leave you with a bagel hankering so strong, you might be spontaneously teleported the three blocks from Essex Market down to Grand Street and the venerable Kossar’s, purveyors of the best bagels and bialys in town.
What makes this Kuyahoora Crème so delightful? Chalk it up to the Jones Family Farm having access to the best cows’ milk in the Mohawk Valley, a verdant, fertile parcel o’ land nestled in the Adirondack foothills. Under the skillful watch of the Jones family cheese makers, the rich, fatty cows’ milk is turned into a supple, silky, spreadable cheese that is tangy, salty, and graced with a high note of sweet cream. Our message to cream cheese lovers: Keeping up with the Joneses has never been so delicious!
