At this time of the year, our cave is busting at the seams with new arrivals! For the finest seasonal cheeses, La Créme de la Cave is your ticket to ride. This inaugural version features two cheeses from Twig Farm in Vermont – Goat Tomme and Mixed Drum, and Strawbridge from Meadowood Farms in New York State.
Twig Farm is one of the finest cheesemakers in the US (and quite possibly the world!) Their Goat Tomme was just released for the 2014 season, and it is tasting amazing! The cheese is semi-firm, musky, grassy, and creamy with a gorgeous earthy rind. The Mixed Drum is some of the last of 2013’s production and has a sharp, bold and robust flavor that smacks of pepper, onions, and barnyard.
Meadowood Farms is a sheep dairy located near Syracuse, New York. Their Strawbridge is a gooey, camembert-style sheeps’ milk cheese that is creamy, decadent, and nutty. One bite and we bet you’ll become a lifelong fan!
Contains approximately 1.5 lbs of cheese, serves 8-12 people.
